For the Foundation’s most comprehensive projects and initiatives, we endeavor to foster partnerships that draw on the specific expertise, resources, and capabilities of various nonprofit, philanthropic, public, and private organizations.
We strive to empower our partners to work together in new and innovative ways that have the potential to develop into sustainable and scalable models that inform system-wide change on a statewide or national level. We employ appropriate and measurable performance metrics to track our successes and failures in the field.
Initiatives
Through our special initiatives, the Foundation strives to develop new strategies and methods of service delivery in furtherance of our mission. An evaluation component is built into each program, resulting in data and research contributing to overarching systems of change.
Core Grants
Annual grants are awarded to organizations that are closely aligned with the Foundation’s overall strategy. Areas of focus may include education, emergency relief, philanthropy, medical disciplines, healthcare, and other community issues.
Memberships
Membership grants allow our Foundation to maximize impact through partnerships and learning. By supporting the work of grantmaking affinity groups and other civic initiatives, we leverage our resources and contribute to a strong and collaborative network of change-makers.
Affiliates
In certain circumstances, we expand our grantmaking to include organizations to which Trustees of the Foundation are deeply committed. By supporting nonprofits whose missions are directly connected with trustees’ areas of interest and passions, we continue to expand the legacy of our multi-generational family foundation.
